"The influence of global crises and the current care situation of mentally ill children and adolescents in Freiburg"
Mental illness is not uncommon among children and young people: whether at school, in peer groups, within the family or in clubs - many children and young people are affected. Mental health problems manifest themselves in various forms: From withdrawal, aggression, sadness to sleep disorders, eating disorders or a drop in performance and refusal to go to school.
There are many causes, including biological, psychological and social factors. There is usually not just one cause. Like the COVID-19 pandemic, other current crises also have a major impact on the psyche of young people.
The lecture will shed light on how mental illnesses develop in childhood and adolescence, which behaviors and abnormalities become visible in everyday life, what influence crises have on mental illnesses and what the current situation of treatment options in Freiburg looks like.
