Reading and discussion with bestselling authors Dr. Gesine Dornblüth and Thomas Franke on their book "Putin's Poison: Russia's Attack on Europe's Freedom".
Cyberattacks, poison attacks, disinformation campaigns - the threat to Europe's liberal democracies has long been a reality. The Russian regime is waging this battle with increasing aggression and exploiting weak points to destabilize Western societies. And it is not stopping at Germany and the EU.
In their book "Putin's Poison: Russia's Attack on Europe's Freedom", bestselling authors Dr. Gesine Dornblüth and Thomas Franke shed light on Russia's actions - not only in the Baltic states, Armenia and Ukraine, but also in the USA and the EU. They take a look at the subtle mechanisms that have become entrenched in societies and show how fear is instrumentalized to weaken democracies.
What long-term goals is Russia pursuing with its methods? How deeply is Putin's influence already anchored in European societies? And how can we fight it?
We would like to discuss these and other questions with the two authors Dr. Gesine Dornblüth and Thomas Franke - and with you!
The event is being organized in cooperation with the Reinhold-Maier-Stiftung, the Deutsch-Ukrainische Gesellschaft e.V. Freiburg and the Liberale Hochschulgruppe Freiburg.
