Reels of Reality - Performance. Youth dance theater of the Studio Pro Arte

How do we want to live? Can we change the future - and what role does our imagination play in a world between reality and digital projection? With Reels of Reality, Studio Pro Arte is staging an in-house production that addresses precisely this question. Over the course of five months, around 40 children and young people from Freiburg and the surrounding area worked together to develop a dance theater piece. The starting point is their own questions, thoughts and perspectives - translated into movement, scene and image. Between contemporary dance, hip-hop and theatrical elements, the result is a multi-layered performance that moves between hope and doubt, reality and virtual spaces. Reels of Reality asks what is "real", what seems possible - and how young people can shape their own future. The particular strength of the evening lies in its immediacy: the performers do not stand for an idea - they negotiate it themselves on stage. The performance is part of the Frei Art Festival - Spring Edition, which combines international productions with local works at Studio Pro Arte and creates a space in which artistic processes and social issues come together.
