Reinhold Schneider Prize 2024

On Friday, November 22, First Mayor Ulrich von Kirchbach will present the Reinhold Schneider Prize during a festive evening at 7:30 p.m. in the historical merchants' hall. Interested citizens are cordially invited to attend the award ceremony. The event is free of charge. Registration is requested due to limited seating capacity.

At the end of July, the 11-member jury, chaired by Mayor of Culture Ulrich von Kirchbach, selected the winners of the Reinhold Schneider Prize 2024 in the field of music:

Murat Coşkun, percussionist, founder and artistic director of the international frame drum festival Tamburi Mundi, will receive the Cultural Award of the City of Freiburg, endowed with 15,000 euros. He is internationally active as a soloist, with numerous ensembles, as a composer, festival director, music teacher and lecturer.

The Reinhold Schneider Prize scholarship, endowed with 6,000 euros, is awarded in equal parts of 3,000 euros each to the young conductor Friederike Scheunchen and the girls' choir at Freiburg Minster.
