"rooms", composed to texts by Virginia Woolf, unfolds a stylistic range: on the one hand as a
response to the many facets of the music school and on the other as a mediation of contemporary styles
with classical music. As listeners, we wander through a wide variety of spaces - sometimes abruptly, sometimes
slowly, sometimes fading in and out.

For the Freiburg School of Music, this composition for large orchestra, ensembles, choirs, soloists
and electronic playback and over 200 participants represents an unprecedented dimension in the
collaboration and presentation of the many instruments, which present an
unheard-of variety of sounds, from soloists to large tutti.
