Looking back - A life for drawing

In this exhibition at Galerie 4e, Eberhard Brügel invites us to relive his artistic journey as a draughtsman. He, the specialist who has lived, taught and executed this cornerstone of art like no other in Freiburg, also shows how it all began: with surprising colored drawings and prints.

His naturalness as a person and artist, his connection with nature as the origin of all artistic processes, form a strong foundation. Experimenting with different techniques and the influences of the various styles of art that he has experienced in his long artistic career characterize this time, this path up to his trademark, the "high-resolution" drawings of our native Black Forest.

This compilation of works, important stages in his career, is crowned by the large-format drawings of the 12 months, where he captured the changing seasons month by month in drawings of the Black Forest.
