Salon music in transition - from the Fin de Siècle to the Golden Twenties

The Freiburg Senior Salon Orchestra FSSO has been offering regular concerts from various areas of salon music in the Herderm auditorium of the Weiherhof schools for some time now. Salon music developed in the early 19th century as a bourgeois response to courtly concerts. "Salon Music in Transition: From the Fin de Siècle to the Golden Twenties" aims to show the striking changes that took place in music parallel to the social and political upheavals around 1914: from the decadent sensibility of late Romantic music to the revolutionary Three Penny Opera.
