School without racism?

The Migrant_innenbeirat (MB) of the city of Freiburg invites all interested citizens, associations and institutions, friends, to an interactive lecture with Rahel El-Maawi on the topic "School without racism?".

This will be followed by a panel discussion.

How can we create a school culture that is critical of racism in Freiburg?
Racism is structural.
Racism is a system that has evolved over time.
How deep is it embedded in our society and therefore also in our school system?
What does it take to create a school culture that is critical of racism in Freiburg?

Speaker Rahel El-Maawi, an expert on diversity and author of the book "No to racism, Grundlage einer rassismuskritischen Schulkultur" (No to racism, the basis of a school culture critical of racism), will explore these questions in an interactive presentation.

We will then take a very concrete look at the situation in Freiburg and discuss it with, among others

• Jordan Schwarz (advice center Leuchtlinie)
• Prof. Dr. Isabelle Ihring (Freiburg University of Applied Sciences, member of the Federal Government's Anti-Racism Expert Council)
