Special exhibition: Model Moon Horse. How a fragment of the Parthenon became the most famous horse head of antiquity

Free entry

Regular curator-guided tours with Prof. Dr. Jens-Arne Dickmann.

The focus is on a single object: the famous horse's head from the east pediment of the Parthenon temple - and its astonishing career in plaster casts, drawings, prints, photographs and new digital media. The exhibition approaches the exhibits from six perspectives and asks how an originally marginal pediment sculpture could become perhaps the most famous depiction of a horse in antiquity.
