Space Crone

If a spaceship came along and the aliens said: "We have room for one exemplary person so that we can learn something about the nature of humanity during the long journey" - who would we give along?

In the essay The Space Crone, U. K. Le Guin is convinced that an older woman with experience of life could best represent humanity. Inspired by this, Olivia Maridjan-Koop, who is approaching the third phase of life, explores the themes of transformation and transience as fundamental conditions of life with three artists from the fields of dance, spoken theater, music and performance art. On an intimate arena stage, the solo performer's shifting identities and characters unfold, as do the facets and layers of a lived life. Transience and adaptability are revealed as the essence of existence.
