Baden-Württemberg State Prize for Building Culture

The "State Prize for Building Culture Baden-Württemberg 2024" recognizes outstanding answers to current issues in planning and building. A traveling exhibition will showcase exemplary projects from all over the state - including the"Weingarten West Project" with its passive high-rise buildings, for which the city of Freiburg was awarded the state prize in both 2023 and 2024.
The State Prize for Building Culture is awarded every four years and recognizes outstanding buildings and urban development projects that are characterized by high design quality, sustainable construction methods and successful integration into their surroundings. They are particularly innovative and transferable solutions for the further development of cities and municipalities in Baden-Württemberg.
The state prizes in nine categories and the eighteen commendations were selected by the jury, some of whom were international, from a total of 235 projects submitted.
The touring exhibition presents possible approaches to redesigning municipalities and dealing with existing buildings.
Exhibition venue: Regional Administrative Council Freiburg, Foyer in the regional council Basler Hof.
Opening hours: Monday to Thursday: 8 am to 5 pm and Friday: 8 am to 4 pm.
Admission is free.
