Dances from Southeast Europe at the turn of the year 2025/26

In south-eastern Europe, traditional dance is still alive today, and not just in rural areas. Selected dances from the various countries provide an insight into the diversity, liveliness and richness of this special cultural asset. Participants can expect lively to tranquil melodies, sometimes crooked and unusual rhythms and arm-swinging. Cultural-historical and regional background knowledge deepens the insights into folklore dance. A fixed dance partner is not required.

Course leader: Grimm, Klaus. Klaus Grimm and Linda Tsardakas-Grimm have been traveling the Balkan countries in particular for more than 35 years. They discover and collect traditional dances, which they teach in their courses. More at www.internationale-folkloretänze.de
