THE LOUDEST SKY - Festival for the eyes & ears

Free entry

Mehrklang Freiburg presents "The Loudest Sky" from October 15 to 19, 2025 at the E-Werk event rooms in Freiburg, a festival format of electronic art for the eye and ear.

The focus is on electronic sounds and digital imagery with a hauntingly suggestive power. The works of Argentinian artist Bernardo Mario Kuczer, which will be shown in public for the first time, form the thematic framework. Kuczer died in 2023.

He spent the last 24 years of his life in seclusion on the Tuniberg near Freiburg - far away from public attention. During this time, he created an extensive digital oeuvre, which was realized with the help of specially developed computer programs.

With the festival, Mehrklang is bringing an extraordinary, previously unknown artistic personality into the public eye. At the same time, central works of 20th century electronic music will be presented - sound icons and key pieces by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Luigi Nono, Iannis Xenakis, Brian Ferneyhough and Giacinto Scelsi.

Expert speakers offer accessible introductions to these works and provide in-depth access to their complex sound language.

Under the title "The Loudest Sky", Mehrklang invites you on a musical journey - from the historical beginnings of electronic sound art to current digital forms of expression.

Kuczer's visual work unfolds a special luminosity in this exhibition. His digital compositions - often experienced as abstract light landscapes - reveal a poetic dimension within a supposedly sober technology.

A characteristic feature of his works is their inner radiance. In the exhibition, they are staged as large-format light boxes in the room - a quiet but impressive form of presence.

Exhibition LichtRauschen. Kuczer's audiovisual topography, October 16 to 18, 2025, 4 to 6 pm.
