The Valley Bees - Freiburg Swing Jazzband

When the music swings, it gets into your blood. You snap along, even if you didn't intend to. Believe me: nothing is as invigorating as a swinging band." That's what Germany's most famous bandleader Paul Kuhn said - and the Freiburg swing project THE VALLEY BEES, consisting of the three Günterstal neighbors Bernd Schlabach (piano), Bettina Wimmenauer and Bernd Wider (both vocals), also play according to this motto.

The three experienced musicians agreed to "swing" together and brought in three other musicians with a feeling for groove to realize their idea: drummer Frank Hättich, bassist Olaf Herzog and trombonist Jürgen Gutgsell. They love songs from the good old swing era from Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald to Nina Simone, because the Great American Songbook is a great place to have fun. And that's exactly what the VALLEY BEES project is all about: fun, rhythm, feeling, spontaneous improvisation - two voices with a lot of feeling - snapping fingers and dancing feet guaranteed.
