Lecture in the series "It's all about the sausage - approaching the controversial topic of meat consumption" - also online
The Catholic Academy Freiburg and the Diocesan Office for Creation and the Environment of the Archdiocese of Freiburg are offering a new series of events on the subject of meat consumption. The series begins on Tuesday, September 24 at 7 p.m. in the Catholic Academy Freiburg, Wintererstr. 1, with a lecture on the human-animal relationship. The speaker, Martin M. Lintner, Professor at the Pedagogical-Theological University of Brixen, will ask about the ethically responsible consumption of "animal" products: How does the consumption of animal products contribute to global warming and species extinction? How should the methods of animal husbandry, transportation and slaughter be evaluated from an ethical point of view? The speaker will shed light on the topic in the context of a Christian understanding of creation.
The event will be accompanied by an exhibition of photographs from the "Open Eyes" series by Sonja Lühring.
The lecture is being held in cooperation with the Musella Foundation for a socio-ecological future.
Admission is free. Registration at www.katholische-akademie-freiburg.de
