Tonal drawing exercises and various watercolor techniques (botanical painting)

Our modern watercolor paints are ideally suited to creating lifelike, vibrant depictions of plants. That is why we will take an in-depth look at their properties and the painting techniques derived from them. First of all, we will study their transparency, their "acting power" and their fine consistency, which in combination make watercolors so suitable for painting flowers. Then we will practice different watercolor techniques with which we can build up a botanical watercolor: even, luminous glazes, shaping with graduated glazes, drawing with fine brushstrokes, dotting, modeling. Beginners are welcome! Please bring your own drawing and painting materials: Writing and drawing paper, pencils H, HB, B, eraser, kneaded eraser, sharpener, set square and magnifying glass as well as two water glasses, painting cloth or household paper, palette or white plate, small watercolor block, approx. 20x30 cm, grain satinée, hot pressed (e.g. "lanaquarell").(e.g. "lanaquarell" or others), good, pointed brushes approx. no. 1, 3 and 5, small synthetic brush no. 4 for smudging, watercolors, if available.
