Upcycling workshop: Loving clothes for longer - redesigning without patterns

There are many ways to create a sustainable closet! This workshop is all about repairing and altering clothes. All you need is a sewing machine and a bit of courage. If clothes no longer fit or our style has changed, there are plenty of ways to adapt them. This can be a shortened hem, a completely reworked coat or a sensible repurposing. The workshop topics in detail: Seam repairs by hand or with a sewing machine, sewing on buttons, mending holes with and without sewing. Redesigning garments: making them narrower, wider, shorter, longer, repurposing, redesigning. What are darts? How, with what and why do you gather a piece? Which materials can be combined and which cannot? When is a repair no longer worthwhile? Previous knowledge is an advantage but not necessary. Please bring: lots of clothes to swap/alter, fabric remnants, sewing thread, tape measure, accessories, snacks, drink. Sewing machines are available, you are welcome to bring your own sewing machine (in perfect technical condition!) with accessories and instruction booklet so that you can sew more safely at home.
