How does our daily behavior (diet, exercise, sitting habits) influence the health of our veins? How can we prevent varicose veins, for example?
Veins are everywhere in our body. They serve us silently and constantly by transporting oxygen-poor blood to the heart and making room in the tissue for energy- and oxygen-rich blood. Together with the lymphatic system, they ensure the removal of waste from the tissue. We only pay attention to the veins when they annoy us by becoming unsightly on the legs, causing discomfort and possibly becoming blocked with a thrombus.
This lecture will show how our lifestyle - i.e. our diet, exercise, sitting habits and other behaviors - can influence the health of our veins.
We want to learn to understand the veins better so that we know what we can do in the future to prevent further escalation and promote the body's ability to regenerate. Holistically natural, as usual!
Speaker: Dr. med Petra Wiesenberg, retired physician, 33 years of independent surgical and venous surgery practice
