Event series "Here Comes The Sun" - The opportunities of solar energy

With the International Day of the Sun on May 3, many countries are launching the "Week of the Sun", which draws attention to the great potential of solar energy.

We are taking this as an opportunity to celebrate the sun and focus on solar energy at the EWS store from mid-May to mid-June.

The sun is an almost inexhaustible, environmentally friendly and inexpensive source of energy. Photovoltaic modules can be used to generate electricity directly from sunlight and this is now more affordable than ever before. Photovoltaics and wind energy currently generate the lowest electricity production costs compared to other power generation technologies.

One thing is clear: solar energy plays a key role on the road to a climate-neutral energy future.

Photovoltaic systems can be used on a small scale and close to the point of consumption directly on rooftops and balconies in the city as well as on a large scale in solar parks and are very easy to plan.

Main program:

From May 18 - June 19, 2026, we will be showing an exhibition on our solar parks in the EWS Store.

Pictures, background information and fun facts will provide information about these citizen-owned power plants that generate renewable electricity from sunlight. They are built on open spaces, rooftops or brownfield sites and make a key contribution to the energy transition. Thanks to cooperative structures, the added value remains in the hands of the citizens.
