Damn related. A mythical family

Book tickets

Tantalus loved his son - in the truest sense of the word. He slaughtered him, served him as a meal to the gods and tested whether they were truly omniscient. But the gods were not fooled. As punishment, they banished Tantalus to the underworld and condemned him to eternal hunger and thirst. They placed a curse on his family that would last for generations: guilt, betrayal, violence - a legacy that cannot be shaken off. The curse of the Tantalids from Greek mythology is one of the oldest family stories. In her first work as in-house director at Theater Freiburg, Lena Reißner throws this ancient curse into the middle of the seemingly ideal world of television families. What ends in a bloodbath in the myth is resolved with an embrace in the TV series. But the underlying questions remain the same: Why am I like my mother now or where do my daddy issues come from? How many generations do we need to finally free ourselves? How damn related are we really?
