Displaced memories? Voices of flight and expulsion heard anew

Free entry

Lecture by Dr. Margret Findeisen

The lecture is based on tape recordings of displaced persons made in 1955 in southwest Germany. Around 70 years later, Margret Findeisen tracked down the descendants of these displaced persons and listened to the stories of their ancestors with them. What do they hear in these voices today?

Dr. Margret Findeisen is a cultural scientist and received her doctorate with a thesis on the memory of flight and expulsion based on historical tape recordings (to be published in autumn 2026).

The lecture is part of the institute's own event series "Fluchtwege. Forced Migration in Biographies and Images" of the IKDE.

Admission is free. Registration is not necessary.
