You don't hear music for the two double-reed instruments oboe and bassoon every day. Yet here, too, one finds masterpieces and discoveries of wind chamber music.

Poulenc's sonata is one of the milestones for oboe in the 20th century repertoire. Elgar's Romance and Tansman's Sonatina for the bassoon are similar. A discovery is the Concerto by French composer Marcel Bitsch, which turns out to be a rewarding and rewarding mini concerto for bassoon. A real discovery was Messiaen's Pièce, which he wrote in 1945 as a sight-reading piece for the oboe before writing the text and integrating it into the song cycle Harawi, which was composed shortly afterwards. A rewarding addition to the oboe repertoire. His compatriot Jean Françaix, on the other hand, is known for his lively and virtuoso wind chamber music, which is very popular to play and listen to. This late trio, which he wrote three years before his death, is the inspiration for this. Pure joie de vivre characterizes this brilliant work.

This concert is the official inaugural concert of our new oboist Lena Gersbacher and our bassoonist Robert Oros. Be welcome/Bienvenue Lena and Robert!
