War must no longer originate in Freiburg!

Our vision as FRIEDENSSTADT FREIBURG! is to produce goods for life, rather than weapons for death. We will no longer tolerate LITEF using our city as a base to support wars around the world.

To prepare for our activities, we’ll meet on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., at the Haus des Engagements, Rehlingstr. 9, in the large event room. Only together are we strong!

Freiburg is home to LITEF, a wholly owned subsidiary of the U.S. defense giant Northrop Grumman. Well over 50 percent of LITEF’s products are military in nature: navigation devices, sensors, and inertial measurement units for missiles, torpedoes, tanks, warships, submarines, fighter jets, military helicopters, and drones. Key weapon components are exported to countries around the world, where they are used in numerous wars. The consequences are deadly: thousands upon thousands of people are injured and killed, vast areas of nature are destroyed, and the climate crisis is accelerated.

We would like to work with you to develop a comprehensive strategy on how we can most effectively push for LITEF to initiate a transition to civilian production. The goal is the development and manufacture of environmentally and socially sustainable products!

To give weight to our demands, we’ll be taking action on World Peace Day, September 21: with a protest in front of LITEF and an informational and action event in the evening at the Kommunales Kino.
