"From India to Germany"

Sunita Sukhana reads from her book "From India to Germany". In it, she tells the story of her father's migration on his long and turbulent journey from India to Germany. With empathy and expertise, she links his personal experiences with world-historical events in Afghanistan, Iran and the Soviet Union at the end of the 1970s. Bagicha Singh, the protagonist of the book, will also be present this evening.

The path to a foreign home

Look forward to touching insights into a life that tells the story of how the near seems ever more distant and the far so close that a person sets off to find a new home in the still foreign distance.

An event organized by the City of Freiburg in cooperation with the"Partnership for Democracy Freiburg".
