Advantages and limitations of electronic patient records
Tuesday, 25/03/2025 / 03:00 PM - 04:30 PM / town hall in Stühlinger
The presentation on electronic patient records (ePA) is aimed at older people with statutory health insurance. The speaker, Ria Hinken, journalist, blogger and former managing director of an IT company, regularly gives talks on the topic of digitalization and founded the platform www.alterskompetenz.info.
Since February, electronic patient files have been automatically created for people with statutory health insurance, allowing doctors to store and retrieve medical data digitally via the health card. The ePA offers numerous advantages, including better coordination of medical care and easy access to personal health data. However, there are also limits to its use. Patients are called upon to actively engage with this innovation in order to be able to make a decision. Anyone who does not agree to the use of electronic patient records must lodge an objection with their own health insurance company.
In her presentation, Ria Hinken will explain the advantages, possible uses and limitations of the new electronic patient file. Anja Schwab, head of the city's senior citizens' office, will moderate the event.
After the presentation, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas.
Attendance is free.
The event is jointly organized by Ria Hinken, the senior citizens' office with care support point and the city senior citizens' council.
Registration is required by Monday, March 24, at the senior citizens' office, by email to seniorenbuero@freiburg.de or by telephone on 0761 201-3032.
