Hike to the wind turbines at Holzschlägermatte (Freiburg)

Citizens can find out more about the use of wind energy in Freiburg and specifically at Holzschlägermatte, where a new wind turbine is currently being erected and an old wind turbine is expected to be dismantled by the beginning of October. Two new wind turbines are also being erected on the Taubenkopf in the immediate vicinity of the Holzschlägermatte. The meeting point is at 2 p.m. at the Schauinslandbahn valley station. From here, we will take the gondola to the mountain station and hike from there to Holzschlägermatte (approx. 45 - 60 minutes on foot). An expert will be waiting for us there to tell us about the construction of the wind turbines and answer our questions. At around 4:30 pm, we will hike back to the Schauinslandbahn mountain station so that we can start our return journey together in good time before the end of the trip. The cost of the Schauinslandbahn ride is to be borne by the participants themselves. Participants are also asked to wear sturdy shoes and to bring their own food and drink. Please be aware that we will be walking on forest paths. Accordingly, sure-footedness and a certain level of physical fitness are prerequisites for taking part in the hike. The hike cannot take place in bad weather. In this case, participants will be informed in advance by e-mail. The event is organized by the Freiburg Environmental Protection Agency. Registration period: 30.08.2024 - 19.09.2024
