When the eagle dances with the drum

Zuni music and culture interwoven with the sound of frame drums!
A five-member group from the Zuni tribe is coming directly from the USA to Europe and is also making a stop in Freiburg!

The dance of the eagle is a highly symbolic ceremony of the Zunis and other Pueblo peoples. It symbolizes spiritual upliftment, the connection between earth and sky and the guidance of the spirits.
This first cooperation project between Tamburi Mundi and the festival "Les Sacrées Journées" in Strasbourg involves a joint performance with Zuni artists and frame drummer Murat Coskun. The frame drum - an important ritual instrument in many cultures - forms the central theme of the evening.
