Sunday, 24/11/2024 / 05:00 PM / St. George Church, Freiburg
Free entry
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Freiburg on November 27, 1944, a reading with music will take place on Sunday, November 24 at 5 pm in the church Freiburg-Sankt Georg, Basler Landstr. 102, which deals with the consequences of war yesterday and today. A guided tour of war memorials and traces of war at the cemetery in Freiburg-Sankt Georgen will be offered beforehand at 4.15 pm.
Texts will be read that reflect war experiences from different perspectives - of pain and loss, but also of hope. The commemoration includes literary texts and poems that impressively address the horrors of war and the longing for peace.
The Freiburg theologian Dr. Daniel Gaschick will give the guided tour at 4.15 pm. Katharina Nast and Sabine Scharberth will give the reading at 5 pm, accompanied by Tabea Hutterer and Mathilda Schubert on the bassoon.
The event takes place in cooperation with the c-punkt Münsterforum and as part of the Palliative Care Forum, an initiative of the Archdiocese of Freiburg.
Admission is free. Registration for the guided tour is required, please register via our website: www.katholische-akademie-freiburg.de
