"Where we used to sleep" - film screening at the EWS Store

Free entry

In cooperation with the Greenmotions Film Festival, the EWS Store is showing the award-winning documentary "Where we used to sleep" by German director Matthäus Wörle (2024).

The film shows the destructive impact of copper mining in Romania - and follows a woman who holds on to her home despite everything.

The film was awarded the Audience Award at the Greenmotions Film Festival. It is a disturbing socio-ecological documentary about its main character, who teaches lessons about dignity and perseverance by standing tall in the face of utter destruction.

The landscape shots are breathtaking, the camera capturing images that balance between eerie beauty and total devastation.

Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to discuss what the images shown have to do with our way of life or the energy transition. The discussion will be accompanied by EWS Sustainability Manager Christian Krause. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
