Workshop "The extreme right and misanthropy in environmental education"

Workshop "The extreme right and misanthropy in environmental education"

Extreme right-wing actors are also involved in environmental and nature conservation in various forms for ideological reasons. At the same time, even in environmental education based on democratic values, there are always points of contact for misanthropic content and right-wing ideologies. In order to recognize and avoid these dangers, this workshop invites environmental, nature, wilderness and adventure educators to discuss and reflect on them.
In the group and on the basis of their own case studies from practice, the ability to connect to the right and the corresponding possibilities for demarcation in environmental education will be examined. For example, colonial continuities and discriminatory notions of naturalness will be examined.
In addition, ways will be developed to consciously design environmental education programs in a responsible, diversity-oriented and democratic way.
