XII. VDIG Reading Marathon: Reading Grazia Deledda together

The Italian Consulate and Jos Fritz Buchhandlung, in collaboration with the Association of German-Italian Societies, cordially invite you to the 12th VDIG Reading Marathon, which this year is dedicated to Grazia Deledda, on the occasion of the centenary of the award of the Nobel Prize for Literature (1926-2026).

Some passages from the novel "Canne al vento" (Reeds in the Wind) will be read together in Italian and German.

Grazia Deledda, the only Italian writer to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, tells of life in Sardinian villages, of passions, conflicts and the beauty of small worlds. "Canne al vento" offers an intense insight into the relationship between the individual and the community, between tradition and change, and is a living testimony to Italian literature of the 20th century.
