The future of the automotive industry in Baden-Württemberg: Between Brussels plans and business requirements
Tuesday, 21/10/2025 / 06:00 PM / Stadtbibliothek (municipal library)
The automotive industry is one of the main pillars of the European economy. In the transition to a more sustainable, digitalized future, it plays a key role in securing the continent's competitiveness. As one of Europe's automotive centers, Baden-Württemberg is at the heart of a comprehensive transformation process.
The Europe Direct Centers of Baden-Württemberg are now inviting you to an online exchange with experts from business and politics on Tuesday, October 21, at 6 pm.
Mark Nicklas from the EU Directorate-General for the Internal Market, Benjamin Krieger, Managing Director of the European Suppliers Association CLEPA, Franz Loogen, Managing Director of e-mobil BW, and Richard Arnold, Lord Mayor of Schwäbisch Gmünd, will talk about the EU action plans, the transformation stress of the automotive regions and the resulting future prospects.
After a welcome address by Marleen Keller from e-mobil BW, who will also act as moderator, Nicklas will explain the EU's next steps in the transformation of the automotive industry. Arnold will use the example of Schwäbisch Gmünd to report on the challenges and opportunities currently facing automotive regions. Krieger looks at the focal points of EU automotive suppliers and European responses to global competitiveness. Loogen will provide insights into the transformation of vehicle production in Europe and the consequences for suppliers. The event will be rounded off with an open question and answer session where the audience can enter into a dialog with all speakers.
Participation is free of charge.
