Alte Wache (House of Baden Wines)
From main guard station to wine bar: the Alte Wache, built in 1733 as part of military reinforcements, is today the House of Baden Wines.
The romantic-style, historic listed building on the Münsterplatz is one of the few remaining 18th-century buildings in Freiburg, left nearly unscathed from the bombings of the Second World War. Once the quarters of the Austrian guard, the building now offers visitors a chance to discover the fascinating variety of regional Baden wines.
