Freiburg Infectiology and Hygiene Congress

In her opening lecture, the well-known journalist Insa Schrader takes a look at the significance of art and culture in the healthcare sector under the heading "Healing Culture" and perhaps gives the term "mental hygiene" a new meaning.

In addition to practical issues such as endoscope testing and the correct diagnosis of infections in the context of diagnostic stewardship, the focus will be on old and new pathogens in fever after a stay in the tropics, assessing the threat posed by Candida auris, as well as the treatment of infections in veterinary medicine and the production of vaccines for livestock in fast motion.
As part of the Hygiene Biennale, selected projects from the past two years will be presented under the auspices of the Vereinigung der Hygienefachkräfte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland e.V (VHD) and awarded prizes by the audience.

The most interesting current studies in infectiology and hygiene will, of course, not be missing and will be presented in the usual pointed manner.

We also expect exciting answers in the thematic block "Challenges of hygiene", in which representatives from Germany, Switzerland and Austria will shed light on the situation in their respective countries and discuss it together on the podium, as well as in the discussion of the experiences of the Baden-Württemberg Hygiene and Infection Prevention Group (BW-HIP) on legionellosis and legionella prevention in hospitals.
