Latvian Christmas - Eriks Eisenvalds: a Christmas story

Eriks Esenvalds is one of the most popular choral music composers of our time. His somewhat different Christmas story takes the audience on the journey of the Three Wise Men, who have to overcome many obstacles on their way to the newborn baby Jesus.

Musically, a cappella choir sounds meet live electronics, singer-songwriter style meets classical singing, percussion ensemble meets recorders and tuned bottles - a colorful mix of sounds and styles that impressively stages the kings' origins and journey.

This is complemented by traditional Latvian Christmas carols performed by the John Sheppard Ensemble, his sing-along choir project, the soloists and the audience.
