Lecture and Discussion with Evelyn Deller Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2014, a war has been raging in Europe that drew little attention in Germany for eight years. With the

full-scale invasion that began on

February 24, 2022, it became clear that the war against Ukraine is part of the agenda of Russian imperialism and Russian aggression against the West. Yet these issues are scarcely addressed in German discourse—despite the immense danger posed by Russia and despite Germany’s complicity in the suffering of the Ukrainian civilian population. This talk aims to break down prejudices and trace why and when Russia invaded Ukraine, which wars Russia is (or has been) partly responsible for outside of Ukraine, and what antifascists can do to contribute to peace—or at least to support

Ukraine. The anarchist group
