DANCE DATES #5

At the Freiburg DANCE DATES, a regional dance production from Freiburg meets a national dance production from Germany. This 'date' enables dance professionals to engage in a direct artistic exchange. Tanznetz Freiburg gUG, in cooperation with E-Werk event rooms Freiburg e.V., thus supports the revival of Freiburg productions - in the spirit of sustainability.
In this fifth edition of DANCE DATES, UN AMOR oder DIE ERFINDUNG MEINER MUTTER (E-Werk event rooms) by Eva Borrmann from Nuremberg will be shown together with the Freiburg production INVENTAIRE (revival at E-WERK Südufer) by Claire Pastier and Daniel Rakovsky.

In the solo performance UN AMOR oder DIE ERFINDUNG MEINER MUTTER, Eva Borrmann approaches the image of her own mother, who devoted herself to flamenco for many years. The drawing of the graceful flamenco dancer is omnipresent in her performance, alternating between past and present and forming an image of a woman searching for her current position.
In Rakovsky and Pastier's work INVENTAIRE, two men meet in the remains of a shared house. They resemble each other despite the generation that separates them. But it is precisely because of this physical similarity that their differences are striking. They could be father and son. It could also be the fantasized or evil alter ego, the doppelganger, the dwelling or the un-dwelling. The two productions differ in form and aesthetics, but in terms of content they are linked by an exploration of cross-generational relationships - on the one hand between two women and on the other between two men.
