Ray Austin & FRIENDS new CD: "A Piece of Heaven"

The program is a very entertaining mix for everyone involved (audience and musicians): songs full of content from five decades - handmade, multi-faceted but without frills - played with a lot of understanding and humour. Many of their own compositions with a palpable feeling as well as some favorite pieces by colleagues ... all played by good friends who understand each other musically: Ray, Niels Kaiser, Michael Zumstein, Peter Streicher and Vladi Kempf.

RAY AUSTIN recorded 5 LPs for Intercord and Stockfisch in the 70s and 80s and lived mostly "on the road" with his guitar and his own songs before he opened the music & small art pub "Halifax" in Gottenheim together with his wife Allison. He later became a presenter and program designer at Südwestfunk in Baden-Baden and has been playing jazz (with trumpet), country and blues (with guitar) in various formations for many years. With FRIENDS he has rediscovered his own songs and written a few more.

NIELS KAISER - plays and sings everything he enjoys: rock 'n' roll, blues, country and more.

MICHAEL ZUMSTEIN - A multi-instrumentalist (mandolin, acoustic and "slide" guitars, blues harp)

VLADI KEMPF - Before emigrating to Germany in 1987, he was the drummer in Poland's most famous rock-pop band at the time, "Lombard".

PETER STREICHER - at home in many musical styles with his bass guitar...
