The External Meeting of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities takes place once a year in cooperation with a state university or other research institution in Baden-Württemberg. This year's partner is the University of Freiburg. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
This year's meeting will focus on sustainable forms of energy, on which there will be two presentations.
Mayor Martin Haag and the Rector of the University of Freiburg, Kerstin Krieglstein, will begin with a welcome address. The session will be opened by the President of the Heidelberg Academy, Hans-Georg Kräusslich. This will be followed by lectures by Ingo Krossing (Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry,
"Babylonian energy confusion - On the energy requirements of mobility with battery, fuel cell and combustion vehicles") and Hans-Martin Henning (Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems Freiburg, "On the way to a climate-neutral energy supply").
