James Tutor, Gil Scheuermann, Bernhard Frenzel and Chris Murphy - the four founders of Braukollektiv Freiburg joined forces in 2013 to shake up the beer landscape in Freiburg

To this day, the gentlemen love to experiment and are constantly creating new types of beer, most of which are brewed in an independent family brewery in the Black Forest. The brewing collective has also made a name for itself outside of Freiburg: since 2015, they have been organizing the Craftival together with Bier Decker - a colourful celebration of beer culture with guests from all over the world that has laid a foundation for the young beer scene in Freiburg. Did you know that Freiburg is considered the craft beer capital of Germany? Craft beers can be purchased at several points of sale in Freiburg, for example at the Craft Beer Lodge or the Bierhandlung.
